Agnes E. (Canova) Celaschi

April 26, 1936 — June 15, 2016

Agnes E. (Canova) Celaschi, 80, of Allenport, formerly of Monessen, died Wednesday June 15, 2016 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 26, 1936 in Monessen, the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Ostetrico) Canova. Agnes was a 1954 graduate of Monessen High School and moved to Allenport in 1966 when she married her husband of 50 years, Ronald J. Celaschi. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Roscoe and had worked for Kay's Hallmark Shop in Rostraver Twp. for the past 25 years. Agnes and her husband were the former owners of Jay's Tavern in Allenport. She had served on the California School District Board of Directors from 1984 to 1990, and was a member of the Allenport Civic Club. Agnes loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the casinos and playing dominoes and cards with her best friends. In addition to her husband Ronald J. Celaschi, she is survived by two sons, Ronald R. (Tricia) Celaschi and Christopher J. (Vivian) Celaschi all of Rostraver Twp., four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Dominic, Talia, and Gracie, and by her sister Judy Canova of Monessen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Antoinette Canova. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Saturday June 18, 2016 beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, 618 Knox Ave. Monessen. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to the American Cancer Society, 520 Bilmar Dr. Pittsburgh, PA 15205-4602.
