Anthony "Tony" Barbera, 80, of Monessen, died Sunday January 1, 2017 in the ER of Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc., Carroll Twp. He was born in Monessen, on April 2, 1936, the son of the late Joseph and Vincenza "Jessie" (Maione) Barbera. Tony was a 1954 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church where he served as an usher. He was a retired salesman from Eastern Hydraulics. Tony served with the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1957 with Hq 3113th Air Base Wing. He is survived by his three children, Joseph (Carla) Barbera of Colorado Springs, CO, Toni Lynn (Joseph) Salvino, Beth Ann Abrahamsen, both of Monessen, a brother Roy Barbera of Charleroi, a sister Nancy Barbera, nine grandchildren, Tyonn (Ron), Danica (Shawn), Hayden, Jessa (Mark), Roger, Nicholas, Anthony (Elizabeth), Ian, and Zachary, and three great grandchildren, Dominic, Bodhi, and Sloan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora C. DiVitto Barbera, a brother Bobby, and by a son-in-law Roger Brandemarte. Friends will be received in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, on Thursday, January 5, 2017, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Services will be held on Friday Jan. 6, 2016 beginning with a 9:30 blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to assist the family with expenses.
