Congetta M. Dastolfo, 95, of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Wednesday Nov. 16, 2016 in the ER of Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. She was born on November 15, 1921 in Monessen, the daughter of the late Gaetano and Cristina (Caterina) Gannitto. Mrs. Dastolfo was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1939 graduate of Monessen High School. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and its Epiphany Ladies, AARP, and the Italian-American Heritage Society. In her younger years she worked at U.S. Steel Irvin Works and the G.C. Murphy Company in Monessen. Surviving are her three children, LeRoy E. (Angela) Dastolfo Jr. of Lower Burrell, Anita (Joseph) Covelli of Pittsburgh, Guy J. Dastolfo of Austintown, OH; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Dastolfo and fiancé Adam Martinez, Maria (Bradley) Barefoot, Christina (Robert) Hromack, Philip and Vincent Dastolfo, and Gina and JoAnna Covelli, two great grandchildren Harold and Christa Barefoot, and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy E. Dastolfo, three brothers, Joseph, Patsy, and John Gannitto, and by three sisters, Ann Colangelo, Margaret Vivian, and Sundaie Bilotto. Friends will be received on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Monday beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with Fr. Michael J. Crookston officiating.
