My deepest sympathy with the loss of such a wonderful woman. Elaina was a special friend and she touched the lives of so many people. She will be sadly missed and forever be in my heart. God bless her family to get through this difficult time.

My sincere condolences to the DiPiazza family. When the DiPiazzas arrived from Italy, they moved across the street from my family on the corner of Liberty Avenue and First Street. I have the fondest memories of walking to school across the viaduct with Elena and many conversations of mixed Italian, Spanish and English with Elena and my Spanish teacher as Elena worked to improve her English language skills. Often, Elena and other members of the family would call on my mother, who had also been raised in Italy, to help interpret mail and other documents they received. I also remember Elena or other members of the family bringing baked goods to my mother in thanks for her assistance. Wishing you grace and strength as you deal with the loss of Elena who I will always remember as a wonderful and vibrant young woman.
