Lawrence Lee Peters, 71, of Monessen, died Thursday March 3, 2016 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 14, 1944 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late Alvin W. Peters and Frances (Johnston) Peters. Larry was a Vietnam War veteran having served with the U.S. Army in the 4th Infantry Division. He was a retired accounting clerk, having worked at U.S. Steel Corporation's Edgar Thompson Works in Braddock.  He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monessen.  Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Mary E. (Handyside) Peters, a daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Stehley, three granddaughters, Amanda Smith, Angel Fleming, Gracie Stehley; grandson, Eric Espey; and by 5 great grandchildren, Jayveyon, Joshua, Devyn, Aria, and Amira.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Forsythe and Betty Nutt, and a brother George Peters.  Private family visitation and funeral services were held in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. & Cremation Services with Rev. Matthew Stabe officiating. Interment  followed in the Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
