Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Margaret (Peggy) I. Young, 85, of Hilton Head, SC, formerly of Monessen, died Thursday December 22, 2016, at her home. She was born in Pittsburgh on June 7, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Wardle) Kelly. Peggy grew up in Pittsburgh and was a graduate of St. Justin High School. She received her nursing degree from the Mercy School of Nursing. She practiced nursing at Mercy Hospital until 1964. The following year she moved with her husband, Dr. Joseph M. Young, to Monessen, where he established a medical practice. While living in Monessen, she was a member of St. Leonard's R. C. Church and later the Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. She was also a member of the Mercy School of Nursing Alumni Organization. Following her husband's retirement, they moved to Hilton Head, SC in 1999. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Dr. Joseph M. Young, her beloved six children, Joseph Michael (Qing) Young of Arlington, VA; Kevin Daniel (Leslie) Young of Mt. Lebanon, Richard Alan (Melina) Young DPM, of Venetia, Kathleen Ann (Theodore) Lucero of Monessen, John Kelly Young of Geneva, IL, Margaret Mary (Clyde) Horton of New Stanton, twelve cherished grandchildren, Genevieve, Arianna, Josephina, Lucas, Jake, Karina, Nicholas, and Maria Young, Benjamin and Tatum Lucero, Camren and Caden Horton, a loving brother, John Richard Kelly, and by nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Services will be held on Thursday Dec. 29, 2016, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
