Philomena "Fanny" (Belfiglio) Mauro , 99, of Monessen, died Saturday December 10, 2016 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc., Carroll Twp.. She was born in Clairton, on May 10, 1917, the daughter of the late Theodore and Bridget DiLullo Belfiglio. She grew up in Clairton and was a 1935 graduate of Clairton High School. Mrs. Mauro was a resident of Monessen most her adult life and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and its Epiphany Ladies. She was also a member of the Italian American Heritage Society and the former St. Cajetan Rosary Altar Society. Mrs. Mauro enjoyed watching her game shows, was a volunteer for the Monessen Meals on Wheels program, and also volunteered at her church fish fries and funeral luncheons. She is survived by her daughter Joy E. Mauro Hydo of Monessen, a son Ted A. and Diane Mauro of Baton Rouge, LA, a grandson Scott D. Hydo of College Station, TX, a sister Laura Bruno of Menlo Park, CA, a sister-in-law Virginia Quattro of Monessen, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Theodore A. "Fee" Mauro, three sisters, Millie Worrell, Mabel "Honey" Cushey, Lucy LaFrance, and by a brother, Alex Belfiglio. Friends will be received in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with Fr. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Entombment will follow in Mon. Valley Memorial Park, Donora. The Epiphany Ladies will conduct a prayer service on Thursday at 3:00pm in the funeral home.  Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
