Robert F. Coccari, 92, of Monessen, died Sunday Nov. 20, 2016 in Thorpe's Personal Care Home Charleroi. He was born in Monessen on May 9, 1924, the son of the late Dominick and Maria Arabia Coccari. Bob was a life long resident of Monessen and a 1942 graduate of Monessen High School. From the 1960's through the 1980's, he owned and operated Coccari's Atlantic and Arco automobile service stations in Monessen and Belle Vernon. Throughout his life he enjoyed dancing at various Mon Valley locations and enjoyed watching vintage western and World War II movies. He was a member of the former St. Cajetan Church in Monessen and Arden Calvert American Legion Post 167 in Charleroi. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division in New Guinea and the Philippines. He is survived by a daughter, Diane M. (Michael) Spadafore, two sons, Robert E.(Joni) Coccari, Kevin M. (Cindy) Coccari, nine grandchildren, James Robert Biondi, Allison (Jason) Longnecker, Lauren (Jesiah) Booher, Debbie (Brian) Sauritch, Michele (Gene) Bair, Jodi Carini, Kenneth (Jenna) Carini, Lindsay Drnjevich, Louis Drnjevich, numerous great grandchildren, former daughter-in-law Beth Ann Coccari, nieces, nephews, and cousins, his caregiver Dawn Coven who provided care and support during the past several years, as well as the wonderful staff at Thorpe's Personal Care Home and by the beloved family dog, Roxy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty (Ross) Coccari, five brothers, Joseph, Louis, Edward, James and Ernest P. Coccari, and by two sisters, Lena Venneri and Edith Alexander. Friends will be received on Tuesday Nov. 22, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Wednesday Nov. 23, 2016 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Diane Hobson officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
