Elizabeth (Stutt) Schmidt

October 6, 1925 ~ March 24, 2019 (age 93)

Elizabeth Schmidt, 93, of Columbus, OH, formerly of Monessen, died Sunday March 24, 2019 at her home in Claremont Retirement Village. She was born on October 6, 1925 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late John and Ann (Stutt) Wilding. Mrs. Schmidt grew up in Pittsburgh and was a 1943 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School. She moved to Monessen after marrying her husband Joseph Schmidt. They resided in Monessen most of their life until moving to Bethel Park and then to Columbus, OH. Mrs. Schmidt was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Monessen and she enjoyed doing crafts along with her husband. In addition to her husband of 70 years Joseph Schmidt, she is survived by four daughters, Lyn (Louis) Charobee of Dublin, OH, Sharon (William) Haines of North Port, FL, Deborah (Daniel) LaBriola of Fairfax Station, VA, Patricia (Charles) Wille of Hilliard, OH; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, James (Phyllis) Wilding of Pittsburgh; sister, Shirley Golinski of Pittsburgh; and by nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers Jack and William Wilding. Friends will be received in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen, on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held on Saturday beginning with a 9:00 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. The family suggest Memorial Contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Foster Plaza #11, 790 Holiday Dr. Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
