Betty Jane (Elizabeth) Sterback Sinchak, 87, went home to Jesus on Friday Nov. 10, 2017. She was born on August 8, 1930 in California, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Emily (Eagler) Sterback. Betty Jane was a World Kitchen/Corning retiree, a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church, First Catholic Slovak Union, and Corning retirees. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Steve Sinchak who served the City of Monessen as treasurer and councilman, and by two sisters, Margaret Sterback and Rita Douglas. She is survived by her five children: Rita (Ron) Palmintera of Charleroi, with whom she resided, Anthony C. (Francine) Sinchak of Harwood, MD, Joseph Sinchak of Saratoga Springs, NY; Anna Marie (Mark) Gazi of Elco, Mary Grace (James) Bloom of Carroll Twp., eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren: Tina (John) McGilivray and son Blake Pobst, Traci Zimmerman and daughters Allie and Olivia Tokar, Paul (Amanda) Sinchak, Nicholas Sinchak, Joseph Sinchak and son Kamdyn, Justin Sinchak and sons Dakota and Justin Jr., Elizabeth Sinchak, Jackie Matassa, Lisa Matassa, Robbie Flores and children, Georgina Barney and children Ciara Comfort, Larry Barney Jr., and Audryna Bauer, Cali Comfort and Tinlei Vuksanovich; two sisters, Patricia Rosensteel of Sunderland MD, and brother Olan Sterback of California, PA. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday Nov. 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Mary Mother of the Church, 624 Washington Ave. Charleroi. Private interment will be held in Holy Name Cemetery, Monessen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army, Doctors Without Borders, your local library or food pantry.
