Brenda Rose Van Meter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, left this world suddenly, unexpectedly, and peacefully just after midnight August 24, 2022 She was born in Monessen, Pennsylvania, January 3, 1940, an only child to parents Perry Hasson Peters, and Rose Grillo Peters. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John, her daughter Stacey, son Raymond, grandchildren Charmaine, Sierra, Brandon, Raymond, and Victoria. She is preceded in death by her parents, and granddaughter Rosamunde. She met John at the age of 17, who fell instantly and deeply in love with her. Together they raised a family and shared 67 years of experiences and love. Brenda was foremost a wife and mother, and loved her family fiercely. She worked in several professional fields, she was an OR Nurse, a talented artist, an IRS agent and tax preparer. She loved gardening, painting, dogs, and nature. She believed strongly in personal integrity, morals, and honesty and held herself to the same high standard as she held others. Brenda was very intuitive and wise beyond her years, often times knowing things decades before they were common knowledge. She had a wide and varied interest in all things, with a strong passion and love for animals, especially dogs and birds, as well as the environment. Brenda loved the saying “love what you have, while you still have it, because it won’t always be here”. Hug your mothers a little tighter tonight, let them know how much they mean to you. No one will ever love you as a mother does. She had significant pain and some difficulties her last decade or so, and we are grateful she is no longer suffering, but her passing leaves a tremendous void, unable to be filled by anyone else, and her family will miss her deeply. Rest In Peace, in heaven, until we are all reunited someday. Services will be held in California on Sept. 13, 2022 with a Committal Service at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Monessen on Friday Sept. 16, 2022 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating.
