Albert Salaske Sr., 68, of Donora, formerly of Monessen, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. He was born in Monongahela on November 22, 1945, the son of the late John and Irene Vercamen Salaske Sr. Albert had worked as a laborer for Frank Irey Construction for many years. He was a member of the Firemen's Club # 1 and the Ukrainian Club, both in Monessen. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Louise Massey Salaske, three sons, Albert (Jeannette) Salaske of Monessen, John (Michelle) Salaske of Monessen, Paul (Rachel) Salaske of Fayette City, a daughter, Louise (Jeff) Olup of Carroll Twp., two sisters, Eileen Gavlak of Monongahela, Marlene Brevko of Finleyville, eleven grandchildren, Alexis, Aidan, Taylor, Maegyn, Emily, Ashley, Katlyn, Brandon, Stefanie, Laura, and Joshua, two great grandchildren, Payton and Kendalyn, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Joseph, Paul, Clyde, and George Salaske, and by a sister Irene Snodgrass. Private entombment will be held in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen. Arrangements entrusted to Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, Monessen.
