Albert "Bootie" Stepoli, 83, of Monessen, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in U.P.M.C. Select Specialty Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Monessen on April 8, 1931, the son of the late Orlando Stepoli and Martha Nahas Johns. He was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1949 graduate of Monessen High School. Albert served during the Korean War with the U.S. Army spending 18 months in Korea. Bootie retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, having worked as a mason for 36 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Prior to his illness, he enjoyed cooking and gardening. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Judy Ann Sutovich Stepoli, a son, John "J.B." Baldwin with whom he shared his home, a daughter Cheryl and her husband Mark Simsic of Belle Vernon, three grandchildren, Joseph, Tyler, and Sarah Simsic and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Olga Turner, George Johns, Kathryn Davis, and John Stepoli. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014, at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Fr. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
