Our heavenly Father called one of his angels, Amelia Picardi Ruffolo, 80, of Monessen, wife of the late Fiorino Ruffolo, home on Thursday, May 29, 2014. An excellent cook and seamstress, Amelia was born in Cerisano, Italy, the daughter of the late Oscar and Angelina Picardi. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, and the Italian American Heritage Society. She was a devoted mother to her four children, Nancy (Rick) Shuster, Frank Ruffolo, Anna Maria (Terry) Dzimiera, and Joseph Ruffolo. Amelia enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren, Lisa (Josh) Shuster O'Malley, Nathan and Rachel Dzimiera, Francesca and JoJo Ruffolo, and three great grandchildren. She is survived by one sister Eolanta Tenuta and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Tuesday beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
