Anne Lombardo, 98, formerly of Monessen, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 in Canonsburg General Hospital.She was born in High Bridge, Iowa on July 21, 1912, the daughter of the late Anton Blaskovich and Danica (Vlasic) Blaskovich Becki. Mrs. Lombardo was a resident of Monessen most all her life, and had worked as a seamstress. She had also worked as a clerk at the former J. C. Penny store in Monessen. Mrs. Lombardo was an active member of the Croatian Ladies Auxiliary and the former Eagles Aerie 2399 Ladies Auxiliary. She belonged to the Monessen Ladies Democratic Committee and had worked for the Election Board at the former Lincoln School. Anne enjoyed spending time with her family especially the many summer vacations at the Delaware shore.She is survived three nieces and a nephew, Diane Chesler and husband George of Ohioville, PA, Melina Gigliotti and husband Charles of Crafton, Kathleen Myers and husband Richard "Dick" of Chartiers Twp., Gerald Sarik and wife Linda of Wake Forest, NC, and by other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Louis "Gigi" Lombardo, two sisters Margaret Sarik and Elvera DeRocco, and by a brother Albert Becki.Friends will be received on Tuesday January 25, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 12 noon in the funeral home, with Rev. David J. Nazimek officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
