Anthony J. Mascetta Sr., 88, of Monessen, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Monessen on January 26, 1927, the son of the late Joseph and Carminella (Russo) Mascetta. Anthony was a lifelong resident of Third Street in Monessen, and a 1945 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church and a former member of the Franco Belgium Club in Monessen, and Russian Club in Charleroi. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Arden Calvert Post 167. Anthony retired in 1992 with 47 years of service from Corning Glass, Charleroi. Mr. Mascetta spoke fondly of life on Third Street in Monessen and enjoyed talking to family and friends about the history of Monessen, its politics, and industry in the surrounding area. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Adelina (Sacco) Mascetta, three sons, Joseph (Kim) Mascetta of Pleasant Hills, Anthony Mascetta of Carroll Twp., Michael (Alena) Mascetta of Redondo Beach, CA, three daughters, Mary Ann (Michael) Kohler of Upper St. Clair, Angela (Robert) Fuoco of Monessen, Adelina Mascetta of North Fayette Twp., six grandchildren, Christopher Mascetta, Andrew and Joseph Fuoco, Alex, David, and Claire Kohler, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Agnes Greco, Marion Reno, and Ida Tarquinio, and by two brothers, Alex Mascetta and Guy Mascetta. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm, and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015, beginning with 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
