Carol Magone Donnelly

Carol M. Donnelly, age 80, passed away on January 12, 2026. She was born on May 4, 1945, in Choleroi, Pennsylvania, and spent most of her childhood in Monessen, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of George Magone and Sylvia DiNardo Magone.

Carol attended college in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and later earned her master's degree from the University of Maryland. Her career spanned several decades and reflected both her creativity and dedication to education. She worked as a teacher and interior designer, ultimately combining both passions by teaching interior design. She taught at the Art Institute in Washington, D.C. and at The Corcoran School of Art, where she concluded her teaching career.

Earlier in life, Carol worked at Carosyl Card Shop and George's Record Shop in downtown Monessen-places remembered fondly by many in the community.

Carol spent much of her adult life living in Fairfax, Virginia, where she raised her family. After the death of her husband, Edward Donnelly, she moved to Centreville, Maryland, where she lived for ten years. She later relocated to Lake Oswego, Oregon, to be closer to her immediate family.

Carol is survived by her son, Patrick Donnelly, his wife Page Donnelly, and her two grandchildren, Reece and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Donnelly.

Carol will be remembered for her creativity, love of learning, and devotion to her family.
