Concetta "Connie" Lavern Minniti, 84, of Monessen, passed away Friday after a brief illness but a full life. She was born April 7, 1941 in Monessen to Rosalino Sagona and Concetta (Cash) Sagona Procaccini. Connie was a lifelong resident of Monessen, a 1959 graduate of Monessen High School, and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Connie was a dedicated and loving homemaker, caring for multiple generations of her family. She loved to play the lottery, take trips to the casino, and watch her Hallmark movies. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Joseph Gigliotti, with whom she made her home, five grandchildren, Allysa and Joey Gigliotti, Mariea (Phil) Tokar, Pete Joseph (Peter) Minniti, and Erica (Craig) Babich, six great-grandchildren, Thomas, Isaac, Jacob, Zackary, and her beloved Vincenzo and Viviana, daughter-in-law, Anita Reda, brother, Andrew Sagona, cherished goddaughter, Ellen Sagona, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Pete Minniti Jr, her son, Pete Minniti III, her step-father, William Procaccini, her brother, Russell Sagona, and her sister, Rosalind Sagona. Friends and loved ones will be received on Tuesday from 3-7 at the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Wednesday, beginning with a 9:30 AM blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church with Rev. Anthony Onoko.
