Delfo DiGregorio, 98 passed away peacefully on May 5, 1926. He was born in Pietransieri, Abruzzo, Italy on March 3, 1928, to Vincenzo DiGregorio and Annagidia Panzera. Delfo immigrated with his family to Monessen, Pa from Italy in 1929. He married Rose D'Amico of Monongahela on June 27, 1953. He worked for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, from the age of 16 until retiring in 1986. He had 42 years of Service. Delfo lived a very full life enjoying his family and friends. He loved family gatherings, storytelling, and traveling to visit his daughters and grandchildren. Delfo served in the Pennsylvania National Guard, Company D 110th Infantry Regiment. He was a founding member of the Italian- American Heritage Society and was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Monessen, Pa. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 954. In his retirement, he volunteered daily at the Monessen Senior Center for packing Meals on Wheels. He was an avid bowler and belonged to the Epiphany of our Lord Bowling league. Delfo moved to Stow, Ohio to live with his daughter Rosanne in 2020. He lived with Rosanne until his peaceful passing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Rose and his sisters, Gianina (Richard) Cicone, Derna (Mike) Lenart, Agnes (Pete) Sopko and Edwina (Ron) Valdiserri. Delfo is survived by his two daughters, Lori Wilkins (Fred) of Pepperell, MA and Rosanne Zedar of Stow, OH; Four grandchildren, Julia Wilkins (Nick) Searle, Michael Wilkins, Blake (Sarah) Zedar and Anna (Rob Bartels) Zedar; 2 Great Grandchildren Everett Joseph Zedar, and Luca Delfo Nicholas Searle. Also surviving is his sister-in-law Tina D'Amico (Bob) formerly of New Eagle along with many nieces and nephews. Delfo will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Monongahela, next to his wife Rose. He will receive military honors in recognition of his service. Friends will be received from 3 p.m. To 7 p.m. on Friday May 8, at Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, Pa. On Saturday, May 9, a blessing service at the funeral home will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Monessen. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association.
