Dolores M. Piper, 72, of Monessen, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in Havencrest Nursing Center.She was born in Monessen on June 30, 1936, the daughter of the late Michael and Meri Kushiner Yoursco. She was a life long resident of Monessen and a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. Dolores was an active member of the Monessen Democratic Committee and years ago served as Committee Chairperson.She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles Piper, her son and daughter-in-law, James and Ann Kirkpatrick of White, PA, a brother and sister-in-law, Michael J. and Pauline Yoursco of Shinnston, WV, four grandchildren, Heather, Katherine, Dalton, and Megan Kirkpatrick, a great grandson, Nicholas Hoss, two nieces, Debra Piorkowski of McKinney, TX, Mary Beth Paglia and husband Chris of Monessen, two nephews, John Piper of State of California, Charles Piper of Pittsburgh, and a great nephew, Roman Paglia.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death two sisters, Anna DaeCheck and Pauline Piorkowski, and two nephews, Bernard and John DaeCheck.Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Saturday June 13, 2009, beginning with a 9:30 Panachida in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Divine Liturgy in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Rostraver Twp.
