Dominic Lucchino, 86, of Monessen, died suddenly on Friday, September 10, 2010 in the Emergency Room of Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.He was born in Nicastro, Italy on July 1, 1924, the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Caruso) Lucchino. Mr. Lucchino was a resident of Monessen since 1950 and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. He was a life member of the Italian Society of Mutual Aid, and was retired from the Monessen Southwestern Railroad, having worked as a diesel mechanic. While living in Italy, he serve in the Italian Army during WW II. Dominic was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed his family, and will be sadly missed by all in his family.He is survived by his wife, Angeline (Talarico) Lucchino, whom he married on Nov. 12, 1949 in Windsor Ontario Canada, a son and daughter-in-law, John D. and Ann Lucchino of Latrobe, a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Philip Baldini of Rostraver Twp., five grandchildren, Anthony and Patrick Lucchino, Liza, Mia, and Philip Baldini, two brothers, John (Chance) Lucchino of Windsor, Canada, Joseph (Beatrice) Lucchino of Italy, two sisters, Anna Chirullo and Theresa Lucchino, both of Italy, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Anthony E. Lucchino, his father-in-law John Talarico, and step mother-in-law, Maria Staffieri Talarico.Friends will be received on Sunday Sept.12, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Monday, September 13, 2010, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.
