Dominic V. Mazzocco

Dominic V. Mazzocco, 85, formerly of Monessen, died Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Trinity Home of Scottsdale, AZ.



He was born in Perryopolis on April 29, 1928, the son of the late Costantino Mazzocco and Rosemarie DiLuzio Mazzocco. Dominic grew up in Perryopolis and was a 1947 graduate of Perryopolis High School. He had worked for the former American Chain and Cable Co. (Pages) in Monessen and retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He and his late wife, Valia Spadafore Mazzocco, owned and operated "The Pasta Shoppe" in Monessen for 10 years.



He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, B.P.O.E. #773, and the Monessen Elks Golf League. Dominic was a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Army.



He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Dugan of Scottsdale, AZ, his son, Albert J. Mazzocco of Columbia, SC, three brothers, Ronald (Melody) Mazzocco and Richard (Evelyn) Mazzocco, all of Goodyear, AZ, James (Noriko) Mazzocco of Tucson, AZ, two granddaughters, Nicole (Cameron) Martin of Valencia, Stephanie (Genaro) DiPiazza of Monessen, two great grandsons, Xavier and Eli Martin, a sister-in-law, Mary Mazzocco of Goodyear, AZ, and by numerous nieces and nephews.



In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Daniel, Frank, and Albert Mazzocco, and by his sister Joann Mazzocco.



Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held on Saturday Aug. 24th, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen.



In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley/Sherman Home, Fund Development, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014.
