Edith (Bergstein) Hollander of Pittsburgh, born September 16, 1915, in a Hungarian speaking region of Czechoslovakia, now part of the Ukraine, the daughter of Morris and Jenny (Schwartz) Bergstein whose family of eight children emigrated to the United States and relocated in Monessen, PA. She is the last survivor of her immediate family. She and her late husband, Edward Hollander, who died in 1994, were married for nearly 60 years. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Burton "Bud", and her daughters-in-law, Barbara Stone Hollander and Gail Freedman Hollander. She is survived by her son, Thomas, of Thornburg, six grandchildren, Scott (Teo) Hollander (Pittsburgh), Leslie Hollander (Great Falls VA), David (Courtney) Hollander (Santa Monica CA), Julie (Dennis) Eichelbaum (Plano TX) Marla (Dana) Farbacher and Andi Malinger (both of Columbus OH), thirteen great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She was a devoted mother and a doting grandmother, affectionately known as GG. Friends received on Tuesday, July 22, from 10:00 am to 11:00am, time of service in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc., 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, PA 15062. (www.dalfonso-billick.com). Interment will follow in Beth Am Cemetery, Rostraver Twp. Friends will also be recieved on Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm in Thomas Hollander's home, 1174 Harvard Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
