Edward V. "Dusty" Dastolfo

Edward V. "Dusty" Dastolfo, 85, of Charleroi, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 2, 2010 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.He was born in Monessen on March 26, 1924, the son of the late Guy and Florence DeMillion Dastolfo. Dusty was a 1943 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. He retired with 40 years of service from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., having worked in the Steam Plant. Dusty served his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy in Europe. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the V.F. W. Post 1190, American Legion Post 28, and Eagles Aerie 2399, all of Monessen. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Nick DiMascio of Virginia Beach, VA, three step daughters, Myrna Blanda of Hunker, Marlene Santini and husband Raymond of N. Charleri, Claudia Zuzak and husband David of Charleroi, two grandchildren, Audra DiMascio and Nicholas DiMascio Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, a sister, Eleanor Dastolfo and a sister-in-law, Congetta M. Dastolfo both of Monessen, and by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, LeRoy and Rudolph Dastolfo.Friends will be received on Tuesday Jan. 5th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum, Monessen.The V.F.W. Post 1190 and American Legion Post 28 will conduct a combined service at 7:00 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
