Elizabeth "Betty" J. Greco, 83, of Monessen, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 in Hallsworth House, Monessen. She was born in Monessen on October 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Anthony Greco and Rose Mandarino Greco. Betty was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1949 graduate of Monessen High School. She received her degree in elementary education from California University and taught for the Bentworth School District in grades 4, 5, and 6 for 30 years. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Business and Professional Women, Monessen Historical Society, Monessen Retired Teachers, Assoc., Life member of Washington County Assoc. of School Retirees, and Penna. Assoc. of School Retirees. She is survived by three nieces, Jeanne Martin Hlawati and husband Howard of Peters Twp., Vicki Myron and husband Robert of Fairfield, OH, Mary Ann Germinario and husband Joseph of Monessen, a sister-in-law, Eleanor Greco of Monessen, great nephew, Scott (Heather) Martin, and by other great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph J., Alfred J., Albert W., and Rudolph L. Greco, and by a sister-in-law Gilda Greco. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015, beginning with a 11:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 12 noon Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
