Frank F. Ghinassi, 92, of Monessen, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at his home. He was born in Monessen on May 28, 1922, the son of the late Amedeo and Guideta Menchini Ghinassi. Frank was a lifelong resident of Monessen, a 1940 graduate of Monessen High School, and received his bachelor's degree in education from California State Teachers College. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and the former N.I.P.A. Club. He was retired from the Irvin Works of U.S. Steel Corporation. Frank was a six year veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Navy as a Yeoman First Class in the European and Pacific Theater. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise A. DeLuca Ghinassi, two sons; Dr. Frank A. Ghinassi and his wife Dr. Cheryl Ghinassi of Point Breeze, Jeffrey Ghinassi of Monessen, three grandchildren, Morgan, Eric, and Rose Ghinassi, and by nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Kelly Enright Ghinassi, a sister Marida Zimmaro, a brother Louis Ghinassi. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
