Frank Maiolini, 91, of Monessen, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in U.P.M.C. Presbyterian-Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh.He was born in Monessen on July 2, 1921, the son of the late Dominick and Ann Liberati Maiolini. Frank was a life long resident of Monessen and a veteran of WWII, having served with the U.S. Army Company B, 59th Signal Battalion. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, American Legion Post 28, V.F.W. Post 1190, and the Eagles Aerie 2399, all of Monessen. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp., having worked in the blooming mill.He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine (Bridge) Maiolini, a daughter, Andrea Martin of Monessen, son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Diane Maiolini of Fayette City, three grandchildren, Ryan Martin of Fayette City, Jason Martin of Monessen, Paige Maiolini of Fayette City, a brother, Joseph Maiolini of Monessen, two sisters, Fulvia Chitester of Monessen, Vilia Hornack of Upper St. Clair, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Joanna Romansky.Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750). Services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012, beginning with a 9:00 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Entombment will follow in Mon. Valley Memorial Park, Donora.The American Legion Post 28 and the V.F.W.
