Gary Q. Cope, 64, of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born in North Charleroi, on September 9, 1950, the son of the late Oliver Quentine Cope and the late Gloria Forty Guerra. Gary was a 1969 graduate of Monessen High School and attended Douglas School of Business. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council 954, Italian Society of Mutual Aid, and the Italian-American Heritage Society. Gary was employed by SPHS, having worked as a Site Monitor and currently as a Residential Program Worker at their Rostraver Twp. site. Years ago, he had worked in the meat department at the former Bartolotta's Shop & Save in Monessen. Gary enjoyed going to Greyhound football games, was active at his church, and could be found hanging out with friends at the Italian Club. He is survived by his sister, Carla M. Runfola of Monessen, an aunt, Eleanor Clark of Belle Vernon, a nephew, Matthew Hlodan and two nieces, Jill Brown and Jan Runfola, and by his cousins, Kenneth Clark Jr., Kim Clark, Lisa Clark, and Amy Beth Grubb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Michael Guerra. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery, Monessen. The Knights of Columbus # 954 will conduct services in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
