George Bindi, 97, of Monessen, died Monday, April 9, 2007 in Southwestern Nursing and Rehab Center.He was born in Monessen on December 16, 1909, the son of the late Domenico and Laura (Parigi) Bindi.Mr. Bindi was a life long resident of Monessen and a 1928 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church, the former St. Cajetan Bowling League, and the AARP, all of Monessen. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp, having worked as a machinist in the machine shop.He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Scott McCafferty of Speers, Janet and Kevin Grady of Johnstown, six grandchildren, Tracy Ackerman, Robert McCafferty, Lisa Karner, Erika Grady, Kevin Grady Jr., and Christopher Grady, four great grandchildren, Alexa and Anthony Karner, Jacob and Kylie Ackerman, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Delma Picchiarini Bindi in 2004, and by a brother Harry Bindi.Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home, Inc. 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Thursday April 12, 2007, beginning with a 9:30 AM Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
