George S. Chuprinko, 84, of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 8, 2013 in the Emergency Room of Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.He was born in Monessen on February 10, 1929, the son of the late Andrew Chuprinko and Mary Kasarda Chuprinko. George was a lifelong resident of Monessen, a 1948 graduate of Monessen High School, and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and the former St. Leonard's Church. Following graduation, George joined the U.S. Navy Reserves. He retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel with 35 years of service. He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Patrol, Army Corp of Engineers Campground Attendant, and the Seven Springs Safety Patrol. He is survived by three sons, Carl (Joyce) Chuprinko of Morgantown, WV, John (Rhoda) Chuprinko of Centerburg, OH, Gary Chuprinko of Perryopolis, five grandchildren, Carla (Scott) Jackson, Teri, Bryan, Jordan, and Jenna Chuprinko, two brothers, Emile (Vern) Chuprinko of Monessen, Edward (Marilyn) Chuprinko of Trafford, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dolores "Dolly" Ann Shaffer Chuprinko, a brother Joseph Chuprinko, and by two sisters, Mary Bezuska and Susan Strelick.Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Tuesday June 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, beginning with a 9:00 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
