Irene K. Mascetta, 87, of Monessen, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 23, 2013.She was born in Monessen on October 10, 1925, the daughter of the late John and Mary Billak Peshok. Mrs. Mascetta was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. She was an avid bingo player, loved to play cards and enjoyed camping at Big Bear Lake with her family. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Linda) Mascetta and Frank Mascetta, both of Monessen, five daughters, Marilyn Mascetta of Monessen, Carol Shoemaker of Rostraver Twp., Sharon (Randy) Mauck of Monessen, Shirley Mascetta of Monessen, Jonalyn (Greg) Bagay of Rostraver Twp., seven grandchildren, Donald (Kelly) Shoemaker, Jodie (Jeff) Levine, Lisa Mauck, George (Kassaundra) Jackson, Marianne Jackson, Gregory Bagay, Nicole Bagay, three great grandchildren, Ava and Abigail Levine, Donald Mason Shoemaker, two sisters, Peggy (Elmer) Paulina and LaVerne Stark, all of Monessen, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas A. Mascetta Sr., two sons, Frank John and Nicholas A. Mascetta Jr., a daughter Shirley Marlene Mascetta, two sisters, Dolores Desak and Patience Lee, and by her daughter-in-law Annie (Fleetwood) Mascetta.Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, on Tuesday 6 to 8 pm, and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.Services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
