James V. Restivo, 91, of Monessen, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 in Mon. Valley Hospital Inc.He was born in Monessen on Jan. 28, 1922, the son of the late Thomas and Josephine Cina Restivo. Jim was a resident of Monessen most all his life and a member of V.F.W. Post 1190, American Legion Post 28, MARS, U.S.W.A. Local 1229, having served as vice president and grievance committeeman. He retired in 1986 from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, having worked in the BOF. He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Army with the 83rd Division Artillery in Normandy, France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.He is survived by three children; Daniel R. (Gerri) Restivo of Charleroi, Rosemarie (David) Ferrante of Rostraver Twp., Kimberly (William) Hans of Monessen, two sisters, Rose Bartolozzi of Cleveland, OH, Frances Fisher of Monessen, and by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marie (Turcaso) Restivo, son James "Bimbo" Restivo, two brothers, Dominic and Santo Restivo, two sisters, Sarah Yates and Josephine "Pep" Urban, and by a nephew Bob Yates.Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013, at 9:00 am in the funeral home with Fr. Vincent Gigliotti officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp.The V.F.W. Post 1190 and American Legion Post 28 will conduct services on Sunday at 3:00 pm in the funeral home.Condolences accepted for the family at
