James T. Russell

James T. "Rock" Russell, 88, of Monessen, died April 19, 2026 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was the son of the late Charles and Sophie (Chunkala) Skira. Rock graduated from Monessen High School in 1955. He worked for Monessen South Western Railway as an Engineer and Dravo Corp. He was a member of the Epiphany of our Lord Church and Knights of Columbus Council 954. He was a member of Speers Boat Club and an avid Bocce player. He never missed a Steeler kickoff. Rock was also a life member of the Monessen Elks and numerous other organizations. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Ann (Boyd) Russell and Daughter Rozalyn Lynne Russell and son in law Darren Danko; a brother Charles "Chico" Skira and Bill (brother in law)and sister, Irma Kosh, Billy( nephew) Kristan and Karen Kosh (nieces), Larry (nephew) and Kim Uram, Lori ( niece) and Rob Teaff. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Leigh Russell (2019) and in-laws Anna and Edgar S. Boyd, sister in law Fran (Ference) Skira, and sister in law Elsie (Boyd) Uram. . Friends will be received on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. And Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen, PA 15062. Services will begin on Friday with a Blessing Service at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass at Epiphany of our Lord Church, beginning at 10:00 am with Fr. Anthony Onoko officiating.
