John R. Guzzie, 71, of Washington Twp., died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. He was born in N. Charleroi on August 13, 1942, the son of the late John and Gertrude Hormell Guzzie. John grew up in Monessen and attended Monessen schools. He was a retired steelworker and truck driver. John served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps. He is survived by two sons, John D. (Erin) Guzzie, Robert (Tracy) Guzzie, four daughters, Kim Golomb, Christine (Doug) Benning, Terri Guzzie, Jayne Guzzie, granddaughters, Lia and Grace, nine additional grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a his wife Linda Foulks Guzzie, and by a brother Gary Guzzie.
