Joseph F. Ciccarelli, 91, of Monessen, died Friday, March 7, 2014 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Monessen on February 5, 1923, the son of the late Pietro and Rose Portente Ciccarelli.
Mr. Ciccarelli was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 954. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, having worked in the blooming mill motor room. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Bojarski Ciccarelli, two sons, Mark (Kimberly) Ciccarelli of Belle Vernon, Joel Ciccarelli of Albuquerque, NM, two daughters, Dianne Ciccarelli of Greensburg, Adrianne Ciccarelli (Mark) Cooper of Verona, two brothers, Guido (Emily) Ciccarelli of Manor, Paul Ciccarelli of Monessen, three grandchildren, Melanie (Roy) Lenhardt of North Huntingdon, Scott Ciccarelli of Albuquerque, NM, Jordan Ciccarelli of Madison, WI, five great grandchildren, Madeline, Dimetri, Ari, Brooke and Kenley, and by several nieces and nephews.
Private family visitation was held Sunday, and a Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday in the Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Entombment with full military honors followed in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
