Joseph A. DeRocco Jr., 45, of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in his home.He was born in N. Charleroi on March 31, 1963, the son of Geraldine Dietz DeRocco who survives of Monessen, and the late Joseph DeRocco Sr. He was a life long resident of Monessen and a 1982 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church and was an avid Notre Dame fan. At the time of his death, he was employed as a cook at the Jem Restaurant and Lounge in Monongahela.He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Beth A. (Kurilla) DeRocco, his brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Tammy DeRocco of Monessen, a niece and nephew, Talon and Nikko DeRocco, his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Virginia (Martinet) Kurilla of Monongahela, and by his buddies, Precious and Toby.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tonce and Theresa DeRocco.Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday Aug. 16, 2008 in the Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
