Joseph Mario Persico

Joseph Mario Persico, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born on May 23, 1944 in Charleroi - Monessen Hospital to the late Joseph Mario and Julia (Eory) Persico. Joe and his wife of 60 years Charlotte (Roscoe) Persico were proud parents of three wonderful sons, Joseph Jr. (Nancy) of Pittsburgh, Mark (Cindy) of Clearfield, UT and Daniel (Lindsay Jo Beregi) of Monessen. They have four grandchildren, Mark Jr. (Jenna), Jessica (Bobby) Campbell of Ruffsdale, Ashley (Jake) of Grand Rivers KY, Megan (Mason) Varner of Pittsburgh; four great-grandchildren, Paxton, Evelyn, Liliana and Jaxson. Joe was blessed with three generations of numerous nieces and nephews in the Evancho, Dalfonso, Adamcheck and Roscoe families, and also Janice and Derek. Along with many other cousins. Joe was a graduate of Monessen High School in 1962. In his early years he worked at John L Gibson Chevrolet. He began working at Pittsburgh Steel Co. Monessen Plant, shortly after he entered the apprentice program. He worked as a journeyman rigger for many years. He worked in the BOF section until the mill closed, but started working in the coke plant and eventually the Allenport Plant until his retirement in 2004. He was a car enthusiast and repaired his own vehicles and those of many others. That gave him the need to build his garage for his treasured antique vehicles, which he did alongside his long time best friend Jim Pallini. Joe was a wonderful man who was loved and cherished by many family and friends, he will be truly missed. Friends will be received Wednesday, July 16th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday July 17th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Friday, July 18th, beginning in the funeral home with a blessing service at 9:30 am followed by a Mass at 10:00 am, at the Epiphany of our Lord Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Rostraver Twp. Condolences are being accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
