Josephine D'Alfonso, 90, of Monessen, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at her home. She was born in Monessen on March 15, 1922, the daughter of the late Francesco and Julia Zimmaro. Mrs. D'Alfonso was a lifelong resident of Monessen, a 1939 graduate of Monessen High School, and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church.She is survived by her three daughters, Lucille and Gemma D'Alfonso of Monessen, Gina Marie D'Alfonso of Harrisburg, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julius R. D'Alfonso, three sisters, Mary Pizza Daniele, Carmella Zimmaro Orlandi, Teresa Zimmaro Vizza, and by five brothers, Albert, Guido, James, and Patsy Zimmaro, and Albert Pizza.Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, on Monday Feb. 25, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, beginning with a 11:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 12 noon Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
