Julia C. (Magnone) Altemara

March 12, 1924 — February 26, 2015

Julia C. Altemara, 90, formerly of N. Charleroi and Monessen, died on Thursday, February 26, 2015 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born in Monessen on March 12, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline Mandarino Magnone. Julia grew up in Monessen and was a 1942 graduate of Monessen High School. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen and was retired with 60 years of service from Corning Glass in Charleroi, having worked in Quality Control. Julia was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt who enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Penguin games with her grandson. She is survived by a son Gary (Theresa) Altemara of N. Charleroi, a daughter, Cynthia A. Altemara of Rostraver Twp., three grandchildren, Kristy (George) Muchesko, Jessica Altemara, Dylan Anthony Altemara, two great grandchildren Elizabeth and Eric Muchesko, a brother Albert (Wanda) Magnone of Monongahela, and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Altemara, two sisters Virginia Trilli and Margaret DiPiazza, and by three brothers, George, Jerry, and Bill Magnone. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
