Katherine (Macosta) Kacik

Katherine Kacik, 100, of Monessen, died Saturday September 16, 2017 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. She was born in Monessen on July 27, 1917, the daughter of the late Charles and Sophia (Homa) Macosta. Mrs. Kacik was a member of St. John the Divine Orthodox Church, and was an active member of St. John's Ladies Guild, having been chosen as "Mother of the Year". She is survived by her children, Charles (Monsan) Kacik of New Haven, CT, Sonja (Jean-Paul) Ybry of Ijamsville, MD, a daughter-in-law Josephine Kacik of Fullerton, CA, a sister Helen Karpiak of Waban, MA, fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and by three nieces and two nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Kacik, a son, Paul J. Kacik, three brothers, Charles, John, and Peter Macosta, and by four sisters, Mary O'Donnell, Ann Sposato, Rose Macosta, and Helena Macosta.. Private family visitation followed by Funeral Services with Fr. Constatine Churchin of St. John the Divine Orthodox Church, will be held at the families convenience.
