Lawrence A. "Larry" Vitale

Larry Vitale, 64, of Monessen, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. He was born in N. Charleroi on December 5, 1950, the son of the late Frank R. Vitale and Anne E. Trozzo. Larry was a 1968 graduate of Monessen High School, a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church, a former member and past president of Monessen Lions Club, and a member of several social clubs in Monessen. He retired as a code enforcement officer from the City of Monessen and had previously worked for U.S. Steel at their Irvin Works. Over the years, Larry managed and bartended at numerous clubs and in the area. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sharon A. (Hughes) Vitale, three sons, Brian Vitale and Scott Vitale of Monessen, Justin Vitale of Noblesville, IN, four grandchildren, Jason, McKenzie, Logan, and Brodey Vitale, a brother, Richard F. (Roberta) Vitale of Rostraver Twp., a sister-in-law, Laurie Hako of Philadelphia, and by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Flora Ann Vitale. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
