Lena Galilei, 103, of Monessen, died Monday, April 15, 2013 in Hallsworth House.She was born in Paganica, Italy on September 7, 1909, the daughter of the late Giustino Vecchioni and Maria Giannangeli Vecchioni. Mrs. Galilei was a resident of Monessen most all her life, a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and a member of the former St. Cajetan Rosary Altar Society. She is survived by three sons, Frank Galilei of Monessen, Domenic and Mary Galilei of Monessen, Alfred "Fred" and Sylvia Galilei of Monongahela, eight grandchildren, Gary (Debbie) Galilei, Frank (Cheryl) Galilei, Roger (Karen) Galilei, Ronald (Valerie) Galilei, Vicky (Jim) Danoy, Tina (Kenneth) Treater, Michele (Tom) Loftis, and David (Christy) Galilei, nineteen great grandchildren, Rebecea, Joshua, Frank (Stephanie) Gina, Christa, Jessica, Christopher, Lauren, Lea, Scott, and Lena Galilei, Kelly Danoy, Katie (Sam) Cook, Nikki Treater, Michael, Matthew, and Maria Loftis, Raquel and Rosalyn Burger, a great great granddaughter Madison, and by numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alphonso Galilei, a sister Pasqualina D'Antonio, a brother Dominic Vecchioni, and by a daughter-in-law, Margaret Trenk Galilei.Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Wednesday April 17, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013, beginning with 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
