Martha Ellen (Lucas) Fuoco, 91, of Lake Mary, Florida (formerly of Monessen, PA), passed away peacefully at Aviata at Lake Mary on July 4, 2025, with her loving husband and family at her side. She was born on September 14, 1933 in Monongahela, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Brithinee) Lucas. Martha graduated in 1952 from Monessen High School where she was Head Majorette of the Monessen High School Greyhound Marching Band. Upon graduation, she worked for Bell Telephone as a telephone operator, then married high school sweetheart Bill Fuoco in the former St. Cajetan Roman Catholic Church. They celebrated their 70th anniversary on April 23, 2025. Martha was an excellent seamstress and made several of her own and her children’s clothes, including coats and costumes! No project was too large or too small for her to tackle. Martha’s amazing cooking and baking skills were out of this world. From halupki to ravioli and poppyseed rolls to pizzelles, Martha honored both the Ukranian and Italian sides of her family. When her sons decided to become altar boys at St. Cajetan’s Church, Martha’s Uber Service was extremely busy transporting her sons to early morning mass almost daily. She also racked up the miles traveling to Pony League games, football practices and Italian Dancers events. In addition to her most important work of raising four children, Martha was co-proprietor of Bill’s Cabins in Monongahela, a sales associate at Eisenberg’s Clothing Store in Charleroi and Judge of Elections for the Park Plan Precinct on election days. After moving to Florida with her husband in 1990, Martha was co-manager of various condominiums in Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach, FL, and was actively involved as a member and volunteer at the Sons of Italy Lodge in Delray Beach and Deltona, Florida. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her son Robert, her sisters and their spouses, Betty (Gus) Houser and Doris (Charles) Rolison, nephews Charles Rolison, Jr. and Jeffrey Rolison, and niece Andrea Houser Hutchinson. Martha was entirely devoted to her husband and four children. She is survived by her daughter Cindee (Joe) Michniewicz, Sanford, FL; sons Bill (Annette), Imperial, PA, and Richard (Vicki), Batesville, MS; daughter-in-law Angela, Monessen, PA; six grandchildren: Joshua (Jennifer), Jason (Connie), Andrew (Jenavieve) and Joseph (Kristin) Fuoco, Brian Kendall and Brad Kendall; and ten great-grandchildren: Caleb, Eli and Leah Fuoco, Henry and Oliver Fuoco, Draven and Rowan Kendall, and Miles, Mackenzie and Marcus Kendall. Martha is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff at Aviata of Lake Mary and Vitas Hospice, and to our sister, Cindee, and brother-in-law, Joe, who provided invaluable care to Mom for many years.
