Mary A. Boord, 94, of Monessen, died Friday, March 23, 2007 in Heartland Hospice, Jeannette.She was born in Belle Vernon on August 1, 1912, the daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Ellen) Diethorn.She was a life long resident of the Belle Vernon and Monessen areas, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Lorraine Boord of Monessen and Mary Ann Boord of Smithton, eight grandchildren, Ken Boord, Mark Boord, Scott Boord, Kim Smith, Richard Boord, Melvin Boord Jr., Rhonda Luczyki, Warren Boord, twelve great grandchildren, and by several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter S. Boord Sr., two sons, Walter S. Boord Jr. and Melvin W. Boord, three grandchildren, Amy, Jason, and Shaun Boord, and by several brothers and sisters.Friends will be received on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home, Inc. 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750). Services will be held Monday evening at 8:00 PM in the funeral home with Fr. David Nazimek officiating. Private interment will take place on Tuesday in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
