Mary Jo (Alvarez) (Alvarez) Garbart

Mary Jo (Alvarez) Garbart, 56, of Monessen, died Friday, May 1, 2015 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born in North Charleroi, on September 16, 1958, the daughter of Joseph "Speed" Alvarez Jr. of Eldora and the late Mary F. Mancuso Alvarez. She was a 1976 graduate of Ringgold High School and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen. She was also a member of Donora Chamber of Commerce and the French Club in Monessen. Miss Mary Jo, along with her daughter Sonya, owned and operated Sonya's Enchanted Garden Day Care in Donora. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Mark W. Garbart, son, Dorian Smith of Donora, two daughters, Trisha (Grafton) Eliason of Hempfield Twp., Sonya Cialone of Donora, three sisters, Donna DiBiaso of Carroll Twp., Laura (Jack) Emricko of Carroll Twp., Adella (Scott) Boord of Monongahela, a brother, Joseph (Theresa) Alvarez III of Fallowfield Twp., four grandchildren, Sophia, Noah, and Zoe Eliason, Addison Allen, and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Families with young children are encouraged to attend the evening 6 to 8 pm visitation on Tuesday. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
