Mildred "Midge" Tunney, 92, of Monessen, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. She was born in Monessen on October 15, 1922, the daughter of the late Matthew Sabol and Julia Boldyzar Sabol. Midge was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1942 graduate of Monessen High School. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and the former St. Leonard's Church Ladies Guild. Midge had worked years ago at The Gift Gallery and Johnston's Florist. She enjoyed gardening and baking, and loved to cheer her grandchildren on at their sporting events. She is survived by a son, William "Bill" Tunney of Wheeling, WV, three daughters, Dorothy Graby of Monessen, Patricia (Thomas) Kovalchuk of Monessen, Sally (Jeff) Imbrogno of Fallowfield Twp., nine grandchildren, Sarah (Tony) Boris, Megan Graby, Joshua (Taylor) Imbrogno, David and Joe Zollars, Christopher Imbrogno, Max, Matt, and Tommy Kovalchuk, a great granddaughter, Layla Anne Boris, brother, Emil "Sonny" Sabol of Milwaukee, WI, two sisters, Dorothy (John) Novakovich of Monessen, Mary Rutan of San Diego, CA, and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred A. "Bud" Tunney, and by five siblings, Johnny, Ann, Matty, Irene and Julie. Friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm, and on Friday from 6 to 8 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Please note, there is no Friday afternoon visitation).
