Nuncio G. Battista, 92, of Monessen, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 25,1931 in Monessen, the son of the late Daniel and Rose (Tessino) DiBattista. He was a member of the former St. Leonard's Catholic Church, was a 1949 graduate of Monessen High School and was veteran from serving in The United States Army. He was a steel worker and worked at Pages Mill and later retired from United States Steel Homestead Plant. Surviving are his three daughters, Darlene Thompson of Monessen, Denise Battista of Monessen, Loretta Elsbury of Monessen; son, Mark Battista of Monessen; Granddaughter, Krystle (Todd) Mickey; grandson, James R. (Samantha Lacavics) Lutz; great grandchildren AAliyah, Kasen and Noel Mickey, Koda and Alex Lutz. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Rose Marie (Mayernik) Battista; infant son, Joseph Battista; Sister, Antoinette M. Zdilla, Two Brothers, John and Edward DiBattista. Friends will be received on Monday May 8, 2023 from 5 pm to 6 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen followed by a memorial service at 6 pm.
