Olga Irene Panarella,101, of Monessen passed peacefully on Saturday July 6th in Mon Valley Care Center. Born in Pittsburgh on May 2, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (Kusner) Platko. Olga was a graduate of Monessen High School Class of 1941, she retired from Super Value Foods and was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Olga enjoyed scratch off tickets, word searches, game shows, getting her hair done every Saturday and cooking wonderful Ukrainian and Italian meals for her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five sisters Marjorie Halkias, Ann Oler, Mary Platko, Helen LaCarte and Antonia Schwab. Three Brothers Joe Killed in Action during WWII, Michael and Paul Platko. She is survived by a son and daughter in law Joseph M. and Elizabeth Panarella of Frederick MD, a daughter JoAnn Bellora of Monessen, four grandchildren Jeana Panarella of Frederick MD, Michael Panarella of Bethesda MD, Marc David Bellora of Monessen and Lisa Marie Bellora of Belle Vernon and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Thursday July 11th, in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 17 Reed Ave. Monessen, beginning at 11:00 am, with Fr. Mark Swindle officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Condolences are being accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
