Paul "Butch" T. Simala

Paul "Butch" T. Simala, 76, of Stockdale, died Sunday June 18, 2017 at his home. He was born in Stockdale on June 27, 1940, the son of the late Karol and Mary (Planeta) Simala. Butch grew up in Stockdale and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a 1958 graduate of Charleroi High School, a life member of the Stockdale Fire Department, and a member of St. Katherine Drexel Parish, St. Joseph Campus. He retired with 43 years of service from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Butch was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Army Civil Affairs Spec 5. Butch loved to dance, especially at The Meadows, and he was a avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his two sons; Mark (JoAnn) Simala of Wellsburg, WV, Brad Simala of Fallowfield Twp., four grandchildren, Taylor, Kyle, Ryleigh, and Braden Simala, a brother Thomas Simala of Stockdale, two sisters; Cecelia "Sis" (Jay) Clark of N. Charleroi, Katherine (Rocco Gene) Malarbi of Monessen, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Carol "Dee" (Davis) Simala, three sisters, Mary Slusarczyk, Caroline Terrana, Ann Krilosky, and by four brothers, Joey, Jimmy, Buck, and John Simala. Friends will be received in Melenyzer Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1008 Furlong Ave. Roscoe, on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Family and friends will gather on Friday June 23, 2017 at 9:30 am for a prayer in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Katherine Drexel Parish, St. Joseph Campus Roscoe, with Rev. Edward L. Yuhas officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp. Condolences accepted for the family at www.melenyzer.com.
