Pegi (Bongiorno) Guzzie

October 17, 1950 — July 31, 2014

Pegi (Bongiorno) Guzzie, 63, of Monessen, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at her residence. She was born in N. Charleroi on October 17, 1950, the daughter of the late Phillip T. and Mary Rose Mandarino Bongiorno. Pegi was a lifelong resident of Monessen, a 1968 graduate of Monessen High School, and received her degree in Psychology from Wheeling Jesuit College. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and was previously a partner in the Like Nu store in Monessen. She loved to bake and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Gregory W. Guzzie, two sons, Billy (Nikki) Guzzie of Greentree, Bryan Guzzie of Monessen, a daughter, Laura Guzzie of Monessen, two granddaughters, Kayla and Tori Guzzie, a grandson, Nicholas Diaz, a brother, Phillip A. (Lisa) Bongiorno of Woodbridge, VA, eight sisters, Anne Marie (Terry) Tom of Monessen, Patti Cassidy of Lafayette, IN, Teri (Raoul) Jeanmenne of Peoria, IL, Angie (John) Lulack of Colorado Springs, CO, Betty (Mike) Kuvinka of Chicago, IL, Mary Jo ( Ron) Kunsa of Chicago, IL, Christine (George) Mermigas of Baton Rouge, LA, Michele Labatut of Zachery, LA, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Bobby. Friends will be received on Sunday Aug. 3rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014, beginning with a 9:30 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
